After a three-hour delay at Washington DC's IAD, our flight finally took off for a five-hour journey to Seattle. Accompanying us were our two small dogs, Pia and Pluto, who comfortably sat in the seats ahead. Upon landing, we were eager to explore the city by the lake, staying at the EVEN hotel near Lake Union. Seattle lived up to our expectations as a great place to walk the dogs, offering plenty of outdoor space.

Our days in Seattle were spent cruising around the city, enjoying oysters by the lake, and visiting a stunning viewpoint that offered a clear view of the city and Mt. Rainier. The weather was unseasonably perfect, with temperatures ranging from 70 to 80 degrees and clear blue skies.

From Seattle, we rented a Jeep—scoring a free upgrade—and drove up to Vancouver, aiming to explore and indulge in seafood and Asian cuisine. We dined at a couple of Japanese restaurants, savoring sashimi and the best beef tongue teriyaki we've ever had. Crossing into Canada with the dogs was hassle-free. A highlight of our trip was a seaplane adventure around Vancouver Island, where we could see Mt. Baker in the distance. Our 13-person plane ride felt exclusive as a party of six didn't show up.

We found a rental near the waterfront, similar to our Seattle stay, with the intention of walking the dogs. Vancouver exceeded our expectations with its massive and beautiful park by the water. After a delightful stay, we returned to Seattle for one night to enjoy some exceptional Indian food before a smooth flight back home with no issues with the dogs.
